Redlands Community Hospital (RCH) celebrated National Volunteer Month with a reception to recognize its volunteers who give their time and talent in support of the hospital and their community. The event’s theme was “Grateful for You & All You Do!” and honored the volunteers’ achievements and hours of service. The event also presented the RCH Auxiliary President Suzanne Browning with a gift to thank her for her leadership, inspiration and commitment to making a difference in the community.Carol Faulkner was honored with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, created to honor Americans who contribute more than 4,000 hours of volunteer service and inspire others to engage in volunteer service. Faulkner received the official award pin, a personalized certificate of achievement and letter signed by United States President Joe Biden. Redlands Community Hospital has recognized 64 volunteers with the Presidential Lifetime Award dating from 2007 to the present.“We are proud to recognize the tremendous work our volunteers perform on a daily basis that brings comfort to our patients and visitors and lends a helping hand to our staff, nurses and doctors,” said Cherie Towers, director of volunteer services at Redlands Community Hospital. “We are thankful for the generosity of our volunteers and their dedication to serving our community.”In addition, the hospital presented the “Rookie of the Year” award to two new volunteers to recognize their achievements since joining the program. The first recipient was David Knutson, who supports the hospital’s surgical waiting areas and parking lot shuttle service with more than 160 hours donated. The second recipient was Victoria Montaghami, a high school student who serves the Maternal Child Services Department with more than 130 hours donated.Redlands Community Hospital is supported by 140 volunteers from high school students to retirees, many who travel a great distance to give their time to assist in providing an exceptional experience to patients and their families. The event closed with a drawing and entertainment provided by the Beattie Middle School Jazz Catz from Highland.
