You can open a 12-month CD, 6-month CD, and 19-month fixed CD online with Valley Bank. To open a longer-term CD or a CD worth more than $500,000, you will need to visit a branch. Branches are only in four states: Alabama, Florida, New Jersey, and New York, so depending on where you live, this may not be convenient.
Valley Bank also offers a unique 36-month Variable Rate CD. The Variable Rate CD floats 0.1% above the federal funds rate upper limit throughout your 36-month term. All CDs are FDIC insured, meaning funds up to $250,000 are protected in case of bank failure.
